I don’t believe in coincidences, so when God puts you somewhere where you can help, do it no matter what it may cost you! (1 Juan 4:8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
We have a lady in our church who is the most faithful friend to our ministry and family. Her name is Alma and she has attended all of our services and Bible Clubs since we began meeting in our house. Last week,Alma began losing amniotic flood and then began laboring. She went to the public clinic, Centro de Salud where a doctor examined her and sent her home saying five more days; we were hoping the doctor was wrong, because that did not make sense to us. Later that evening Alma called and said her contractions were stronger, about three minutes apart, we went to her house and took her to Centro de Salud. After she had spent the entire night in labor in the clinic, her contractions subsided and the doctor told her she needed to go to the hospital in Comayagua (there is no public hospital in Siguatepeque.)
Her husband Sismay called and asked if we could take them to Comayagua because the ambulance would be too expensive (that’s the Red Cross ambulance.) When I realized that Alma was in transition when we dropped her at the clinic the night before, and the fact that she had lost a significant amount of amniotic fluid, I realized this baby was in severe distress. I quickly decided to take Alma to the private hospital just six blocks away. I praise God for all that he has taught me about child birth and the prompting of the Spirit while we were in the States to apply for a credit card.
We had not had a credit card in over ten years, but I had felt led to apply for one to use in case of emergencies here. I never thought I would say, thank God for a credit card, but God knows we were able to save a baby because we had it for this emergency. That baby could not have survived the hour plus it would have taken to get down the mountain. So praise God with us for the life of little Almah, this is the second baby for which he has used us to save their physical lives, now we need to pray that they will both grow to believe on the Saviour! Pray with us that little Alamah’s parents Sismay and Alma will be saved.
(Génesis 45:5) Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
