Iglesia Bautista Independiente – In 2015 the Lord lead us to start our first church plant in the growing town of Siguatepeque. This city is extremely religious, as is most of Honduras, but this town seems to top many areas in the variety of religions available. Unfortunately, most everyone you meet have “been through” some salvation/spiritual act. But the majority are trusting in their works, religion, church attendance, and so on.
It has been a slow process of evangelizing the area; via door knocking, street ministry, tract distribution, and getting to know those around us. But the Lord blessed and by September of 2015 the church out grew our living room and moved into a small store front on the main street in town.
Today we run two truck (“bus routes” but done with our trucks) routes to pick up people from several different areas of our town and surrounding colonias while others find their own way. The Lord has saved souls and is continuing to do so today. Our numbers vary but we are blessed with a few faithful folks who are growing.
Children’s Bible Club – Once a week we go into a poor community outside of town, Colonia Canada, where we are able to teach around 30 children the Bible. It is always a great time of songs, Bible lessons, memory verses, coloring, witnessing, and getting to know and help these children. A lady in our church provides a nutritious snack for the children each week. Many have earned Bibles and still others are working to earn their very own Bible, something many of these kids never could have dreamed of owning. Many of these children are malnourished and don’t have a stable life in any way, so we praise the Lord for letting us work with them and point them to Jesus.
Evangelism – Every Saturday morning we pass out countless tracts in the town square and market areas, as well as putting up banners with the Word of God. Through out the week we have door knocking and visitation times, as well as trips into the small towns deeper into the mountains as the Lord allows.
Prayer – Pray for Siguatepeque. That souls would be saved, people added to the church, and Christians grow in their walk with the Lord. This is a rough area covered with lies and superstitions of the devil. The Pure Words of the Lord must be shared and the Lord has promised that his Word will never return void.
